q EYE RUBBING

    Eye rubbing is a common habitual behaviour but it can be extremely bad for the eye.

q  it may lead to

ü  Corneal distorts

ü Styes, Chalazion 

ü Risk factors of keratoconous            

ü Dry eye

ü  Glaucoma

ü Hyphema

ü Lens subluxation

ü  Retinal detachment

 

q EXESSIVE USE OF MOBILE PHONE

 

Ø Addiction of mobile phone and prolong use of mobile phone is very dangerous for our eye .it causes

ü  Dry eye

ü  Sore eye

ü Eye ache

ü Headache                                                            

ü Accommodation insufficiency

ü Blurred vision

ü Blue light emit from smart phones damages rods and cones cells of retina

ü Risk of Age related macular degenerations

ü  Blue light also hampers our sleep cycle by affecting the release of melatonin hormone 

 

q NOT USE SUNGLASS

Ø Now a day UV radiation increase rapidly than earlier

      its cause’s

ü  Dry eye

ü  Uveitis

ü Burning sensation

ü It increases the chance of cataract 

 

q BAD FOOD HABIT 

v There are probably more unhealthy foods then you realize lurking in your refrigerator right this second.

v Now a day’s people likes high protein then the vegetable that is the causes of

ü  Early cataract

ü  Xanthelasma (cholesterol deposition)

ü Weak macula 

ü Macular degeneration

ü Diabetic retinopathy

 

q USE WATER SPRAYING, HONEY, ROSE WATER IN OUR EYE

ü Frequently Water washes harmful for tear film (lipid layer) in our eye .

ü Honey and rose water is also harmful to our eyes because they are non sterile may cause severe infection.

 

q  TAKING MEDICINES WITHOUT PROPER CONSULTATION

v Taking medicines without consultation is also a very bad habit.

ü Google medicine

ü All red eye are same

ü Some people use steroid injection for muscle gain, some are use steroid drop in eye for quick action. It effect on our eye

ü  Raising Intra ocular pressure

ü Glaucoma

ü Cataract

ü  CSR

 

 

q USE OF COSMETIC

v Now a people use eye liner, kajal, mascara, to look her more attractive but it effect in our eye

ü Stye

ü Chalazion

ü  Mebomian gland dysfunction 

 

 

q PROBLEM RELATED TO CONTACT LENS

ü Don’t clean hands before insertion and removal of contact lens.

ü Don’t change previous contact lens solution and keep the lens in previous solution

ü  Some people sleep with contact lens 

q SMOKING EFFECT IN OUR EYE

ü Smoking is the preventable cause of diseases and premature death. It harms nearly every organ in our body including our eye.

ü  In eye it is the risk factor of

ü  Severe dry eye,

ü Early cataract

ü  Macular degeneration,

ü If a women smoke in pregnancy its effect to the placenta& unborn child, it causes infant eye disorder, retinopathy of prematurity.

ü ARMD

ü Paralysis of the eye muscles,

 

 

q DRINKING EFFECT IN OUR EYE

ü Unlimited use of alcohol causes the group of diseases and premature death, In our eye .

ü  Iris constrict and dilate at a much slower speed

ü Decreased contrast sensitivity

ü Myokymia(eye twitching)

ü Thinning of cornea

ü Alcohol (toxic) amblyopia (painless loss of vision)

ü Corneal scar

ü Optic neuropathy.

 

q UNCONTROLLED SEX

v There are different types of sexual diseases indirectly effect in our eye.

ü HSV (herpes simplex virus)

ü It can permanently scar the cornea

ü Nasolacrimal & eyelid infection

ü It also known to  causes inflammation of the retina which can lead to scarring

ü  Retinal detachment and blindness.

ü syphilis affects the eyes

ü It can  inflammation of the conjunctiva

ü Cornea

ü Uvea (inner coat of the eye)

ü Episclera

ü Optic nerve and retina

 

q NOT USE SPECTACLE PROPERLY

ü Despite the refractive error many people don’t wear glasses,

ü Some people doesn’t know the benefit of glass

ü Eye drop control the refractive error , this type of stupid thinking is the risk factor of glaucoma , amblyopia

 

 

q NOT CHECK UP EYE IN EVERY YEAR

ü Eyes help us to see the beautiful world but people forget to check up this organ.

ü  Some diseases silently kill our eye but people can’t realise this.

ü Some people come at the last stage in that time ophthalmologist/optometrist don’t do anything for him/her.

Our lifestyle play an important role to prevention those diseases. Prevention is better than treatment. So we have to change this habits. If we leave these bad habits then diseases irritation will be far from us.
